I have a piecce of software from StandAlone.com (still supported and
available) called Sound Sleep. This package is a cool package otherwise,
giving you control over several power switch functions, such as bringing up
a sound recorer, etc. But, as you are interested, it definately lets you
control that when the Newt is turned on, the light can come on. There are
other variations and options you can try out.
I think there is a small shareware fee, but it has a 30 days trial and is
well worth it, especially since Ben of StandAlone still supports the Newton
platform. (And no, I don't get a kick back! :)
