Unfortunately, it seems that your card is hosed. There were some
warnings in the Apple documentation about the danger of doing a soft
reset with a flash RAM card inserted. Very few people are aware of that
warning. Even myself didn't hear about this until someone on this list
pointed out the reference. I've never had any problem while doing a soft
reset and keeping a flash RAM card in the Newton.

That being said, I'm afraid that the content of your card is lost. Your
only hope is to try to reformat the card. Since the Newton doesn't see
the card, open the Prefs, then insert the card. If all goes well and the
card's damages aren't too serious, the Newton should ask you if you
really want to format the card.

If that doesn't work, well, emmm, you can still try to use the card in a
laptop... If you have access to a Windozzz laptop, I've read a few times
that some utilities will allow you to reformat the card, and sometimes
you can use it again in your Newton. Big caveat: never did it myself.

Good luck!

-Laurent.
