Thanks Marco and Frank for your responses.
I now recall the earlier post discussing this when
the suggestion was made to check whether I have it set
to receive beams automatically. I looked up my setting
and the box is not checked. I'm disappointed; I was
hoping it was that simple. :-(
I have a feeling it is caused by having PixSolution's
accelerator installed. My guess is that the effects
Marco described are exagerated by the extra battery
drain of the accelerated processor. Since I'm not
going to uninstall the accelerator, I guess I'll just
have to live with it. But my battery seems to go dead
after only 3 days with power off! :-(
