If only I had a midi instrument... :) What I was looking for was something
more akin to QuickTime's midi reading capabilities. Something that requires
no extra equipment and has some simple (or just one for space concerns)
instruments built into the software. I don't know if this is even possible
on the newton or not, but it'd be neat, considering how many decent midi
files are out there.

Check out http://www.prs.net/

Wouldn't it be great to play all those files on the newton? :)

Alex

PS That's the only thing I'd change about the newton's hardware: it lacks
an earphone jack. Now I know that this is a device that wasn't designed for
anything even remotely serious concerning sound, but I can dream, can't I?
:)
