I think the middle reason would be an important one. In other words, you
can have a dimmer backlight, yet see the display without ruining your
"night vision". I know that the abilility to see the Newton in the dark of
my car, and then look up and still see the road ahead would be important.
Would a white backlight kind of mess with that?

Thanks for seriously listening to and answering my questions. I don't want
to sound like a spoil-sport. I just thought there were reasons for the
green over other colors... :-)

P.S. So as not to waste another email. I'm 35 and in Krakow, Poland. There
used to be more of us in Poland, but I don't know where the others went...
