The only people who have ever convincingly stated that the Jaggies or
Squiggles have gone for good are the ones who have had a new screen
installed by Apple. There has been some talk recently that it has to do
with a flexible connector deep inside the Newton, and some bright people
suggested that opening up the Newton and cleaning this connector would
do the trick. I did. The good news is that I didn't break my Newton in
the process. The bad news is that it had no impact at all on the
squiggles. I was squiggling before. I was squiggling after. I am
sufficiently tired of the squiggles that I am going to buy myself a new
