SYTEK CANADA RELEASES SOFT PRINT PACK!
SYTEK Canada (http://www.sytek.on.ca) is releasing Soft Print Pack! 1.0 for
the win32 platform. Soft Print Pack! is a small application that resides in
your system tray. It lets you print from your Newton to a printer connected
to a Personal Computer (PC) or to a network printer that is accessible from
the PC.
Soft Print Pack! constantly listens to the communication (COM) port to which
your Newton is connected. When you attempt to print from the Newton, Soft
Print Pack! intercepts the data sent from the Newton and re-directs it to
the appropriate printer. This technique works for printers connected
directly to the PC, but also works for printing on network printers.
Soft Print Pack! 1.0 requires a Newton 2.X Operating System. It has been
successfully tested with a MP120, MP2000, MP2100. The printers tested were
HP and HP compatible printers, Canon, NEC and Lexmark printers.
