Well, it depends on how handy you are with a Jewlers
screwdriver! The Newton is very simple to open and the
port is nothing more than a plastic housing that
probably slipped it's groove!
If you have a strong heart and the innards of a newton
exposed to the world doesn't make you queasy, This
might be the best route!
