NTLK MP stylus material

Greetings from Vermont, where summer is just arriving,

There has been some discussion regarding the material used to make the MP 2000 and eMate stylus. Some vote for titanium, others for aluminum. I took part of a MP 2000 stylus and collected an x-ray spectrum in my scanning electron micropscope. Not too suprisingly, it turns out to be aluminum. The textured surface is almost certainly the result of glass bead blasting the surface after machining. The variable conductivity may be the result of having the surface anodized/polished.
