I don't suppose this response is going to be very helpful, but here goes...

Actually, most software licenses are for one machine, not one owner. And
most of them state that you DON'T own the program, you only own a license to
use it within thier guidelines. So they aren't doing anything unfair or
unusual in requiring you to buy a license for each machine. The difference
is that their unlock code forces you to follow the license agreement, where
most make it possible for you to "cheat" even though the license doesn't
actually allow it.

I use DateMan from StandAlone which gives you just about every conceivable
feature for your Dates/ToDo management. What it doesn't do is give those
glorious day/week/month views that you find with TT. I'm tempted to buy TT
just for that! But I can't afford much, same as you, and I have to make
choices. Right now I'm looking for a larger RAM card and a nice case that
will hold my keyboard.

Again, you aren't actually PURCHASING the program. You're paying for a
license to use it. Big difference. Not that it helps to know that or
anything when you're low on funds...how well I understand that! :)

We don't promote hacks on this list. There are precious few developers still
supporting the Newton and the last thing we want to do is promote anything
that hurts their business. What I'd like to see is someone just writing a
small app that displays your day/week/month as efficiently as TT. That would
be wonderful.

Good luck. Hey, maybe they'll give you a break and give you two codes. If
they don't, however, don't get too mad at them. They're following standard
software industry procedures, not pulling some dastardly trick on you.
