Well, I thought I was a lucky boy- I got a Socket PageCard for my Newton,
and I managed to obtain batteries for it from Socket. All I needed was
paging service.
Well, I have been unable to get service for it so far.
Socket's SWIMS service has been discontinued.
A NewtonTalk member told me his service was through National Dispatch
Center, but they told me they are discontinuing service.
PageNet is taking over the existing accounts, but they tell me they won't
start up a new one for me.
Is there anybody out there who has a PageCard who is using it, and can give
me some direction on who to contact in order to get this thing going? It's
just a bleeding pager, for crying out loud. PageNet could so it if they
wanted to, but they don't want to for some reason. I haven't finished going
around with them on this, but does anyone have any ideas for alternatives?
