I have just checked that page and it's telling me, that I should
hurry, as supplies are limited. Hmm - ok. The page is from January
20, but that is 1999 - I'm going to call tomorrow and see, if they
still have stock. There is an internal Ethernet card for my PowerBook
for $39, I'm even more interested in. Let's see what they tell me
about the price...

Forget those. Although they do work fine, they are slow. They let you
connect your LocalTalk network to your EtherTalk network and are aka
"LocalTalk Bridge". In effect, you can hook up any number of
LocalTalk devices, such as Printers or Newtons into your network and
it would be transparent what type of network they are on. But you can
not route TCP/IP packets this way, only AppleTalk ...
