I had this happen while syncing from Palm Desktop. You have to make sure
to let the Newton be the 'winner' in sync conflicts. Palm Desktop
handles annual events like regular repeating events that repeat once a
year -- not the same thing.

I had to get mine back from a backup...

If this isn't a Palm Desktop sync thing, then I don't know what's going on.
