NTLK Newton and VNC

Most of you have probably heard of VNC. For those who haven't, it's an
application that allows you to see a desktop on a remote system, like
Timbuktu. It's arguably less featured, but it's free (free of charge and
free of source). There are servers and clients for many of the mainstream
OS's, and there are clients for the "Lite" clients like WinCE and PalmPilot.

So, why not the Newton? It's clearly got the horsepower, since the Pilot
can do it. I realize the standard arguments of not wanting to develop for
a platform on the decline (however slowly) still apply. However, with many
open-sourced variations to draw from, I'm not certain that this would be
difficult. I may even be willing to get off my behind and see what Newton
programming has to offer, though I obviously don't have Newtonscript
experience (just a smattering of C++, Java, LISP).

So, has anyone heard of work being donw in this area? I haven't, and I've
looked.
