Password Options
Well, i have finally gotten around to using my mp2000 in an actual useful and productive manner: balancing my checkbook using pocket quicken.

i wonder, however, if it is possible to password protect this sensitive information?

Have you tried Catamount's PocketMoney? Under preferences, it allows you to set a PIN before accessing contents. Or you may want to try SAS's Protektor, which allows you to protect applications.
