I couldn’t agree more. I receive the list in digest mode, so I have to go through all of the:

>> reply to newton post...
>>> reply to reply of newton post...
>>>> reply to reply to reply to newton post…

I think that this netiquette has fallen out of use but would really help the readability of the list for me and others who receive it in digest mode.
