That sounds easy enough …

I haven’t tried either peer-to-peer or access point mode WiFi with my RPi2: I have the WiPi module, but I’m not sure if it will work.

Adafruit has a guide: https://learn.adafruit.com/setting-up-a-raspberry-pi-as-a-wifi-access-point/overview <https://learn.adafruit.com/setting-up-a-raspberry-pi-as-a-wifi-access-point/overview>, and while I haven’t tried it, it seems fairly comprehensive.

I have an old 3com Etherlink III card somewhere too — I could use that to connect to the gateway as well, I guess.

I have it basically connected to my WPA capable router that connects to the newt network via wifi to allow me to connect to a more modern browsing experience.
