Along with Tony's comment:

Consideration must be given to where you will save any new entries/data/packages etc. While there is not much storage space on the Newton itself, some data/packages must be stored Internally by default.

The main advantages of using Card storage are the card's capacity and its portability. Should you have another Newton, entries/data/packages etc. can be easily moved to that device should you need to access that information there as well.
