I second this.

I never could get AppleTalk to work correctly in Tiger, or Mac OS X at all for that matter. Although that may have just been because, unbeknownst to me, my ethernet dongle was broken. It’s not like anything newer than Mac OS 9 is needed to manage a MessagePad, so an old iMac is preferable, really.
