[NTLK] Resurfacing after a long absence

Aloha Everyone,

I used to be a frequent participant in discussions here until mid-2002. Moved from Hawaii to San Francisco then and was, despite a lot of attempts, unable to connect my mp2100 to either my new home network or my work network using my Farallon ethernet card. It had worked flawlessly in Hawaii. As a result, I gradually got out of the habit of using my Newton especially with the advent of PIM enabled cell phones and then the iPhone.

I now live in the DC area and recently found a wifi card which inspired me to dig out the Newt, install the Y2010 fix and use it again. Wireless access to my home network works great - I can install packages, do backups, browse the web, etc. Still cannot get the Farallon card to work. Maybe the card or its dongle are broken? Anybody nearby who could test it for me?

Also having a few issues getting email to work with my MobileMe account which inspired me to resurface on Newtontalk for help. I'll discuss that in a separate post.

It's good to see that a lot of folks from the old days are still here (Grant, Tony, Ron, Tek-Ed, etc.). Sad to see that a lot of familiar names are conspicuously absent (Paul F, Paul Guyot, Laurent D., Victor R.).
