Jim is right: do not use a high-wattage soldering iron.  It's not difficult, though you may want to practice.

You will use the iron to heat the original crystal's board solder, one leg at a time, only enough to pry the leg gently from the board.  You will have legs on the original and the replacement crystals and the switch to solder to: your hookup wire does not have to be tiny.

Radio Shack carries the wire.  Look for "Wire Wrap" wire in #28 or #30  
gauge.  Also, you'll want to use a low-wattage soldering iron in the  
15-25W range.  Anything hotter will damage chips and lift traces.
