Re: [NTLK] Tchao is back at Apple

Maybe it's almost Christmas time and Apple needs some new ideas (old ideas?)
on how to sell iPods and iPhones since they haven't changed all that much
recently. If you're not innovating, you better market yourself. :)

I agree. I do not know why they hired Tchao back.

I could be because of the tablet, or it could be something else, or just for
him to help their marketing across their product lines.

But the timing is interesting, with all of the talk of the tablet.

Hi Ryan,

Cool! I'll grant you that Apple looks to be gearing up to market something,
and I can't wait to see what. I haven't always liked Apple's products (the
Rio Karma is a far superior player to the iPod and iTunes is just a
hamstrung SoundJam -- IMO) or always seen the point of them (I have "issues"
with the iPhone as compared to other phones), but I've usually always
admired the design and creativity behind them.

But I have to admit I'd be happier if they were hiring back the development
team, buying back any patents or other tech they may have sold or otherwise
released (like HWR-related stuff), and generally focussing on what it takes
to *make* a Newt-ish device. Until then, we can't be sure what it is they
want to flog to us -- it could be a MacTablet or a MacNetbook, or it just
could be Apple's response to Sony's e-Reader ("iRead", anyone?). But I
can't see that Tchao is tech-specific.

Shalom.
Christian
