As a former Apple employee, my experience was that it was not uncommon for
the engineering and tech support folks who got an evt for testing purposes
to keep them once the production models came out. They also kept
discontinued product as well (sometimes, us sales guys could score old
product from friendly techies, thus my free Cube .... :)
