[NTLK] Downloading Packages Under Mac Classic

Good old Mac Classico: easy on the GUI sauce, heavy on the speed, which is why I still use it occasionally.

But for the life of me, after all of this time, pretty much every package I download under Classico is not recognized as a Newton package and therefore cannot be transferred to the Newton. I did some research - searched everywhere - and there were a few solutions, but very specific and not something that I could follow for my set up.

I am running OS 9.2, with Netscape 6 and 7, as well as iCab 3.x and IE 5. I know there are a few places that explain that you have to tell your browser to download packages as binary files in order for them to be recognized as Newton packages once downloaded, but I could not find any instructions for doing this on any of the browser versions mentioned above.

So I have always had to head over to OS X to download packages, but I want to be able to do it under Classico Schmasico as well.

Anyone have any tricks to solve this problem? I do have packtype but that is useless since they have to first be downloaded as binary files: packtype does not recognize any of the downloaded files so "fixing" the packages won't work.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan
