First try soup doctors: SBM, soup kitchen, doctor, etc. They may fix
the corruption.

If you can't repair, another possibility is to restore just the
System soup from your backup. That will, of course, get rid of
changes you've made since March to that soup, but it's mostly
registrations and preferences for apps, so perhaps not too many
changes since then.

Before restoring, though, I'd move unsaved data you mention via
Sloup, just to be safe as possible.
