That's why I was "thinking out loud" about paying someone. Money is
sometimes a good motivator. Sometimes. Then again, I doubt the $ we could
deliver as a community would be enough. Sigh.

It's been discussed many times, but I don't believe anyone will be
implementing one any time soon. At one point someone was working on a
port of PuTTY <http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/>,
but it was never released and I'm not sure how much progress was ever
made.

Unfortunately, PT100 is quite slow, even on a MessagePad 2100, and
this is considered to be very fast compared to competitors of the
