Hi Ryan,

I'm pretty sure it's an error on his website regarding the speed of an eMate
and the boost provided by the hack that he has installed.
But there is always the possibilities that a slower crystal is being used.

At the Apple website it clearly indicates the operating speed as 25 mHz
*Apple eMate 300 Technical Specifications*

*Microprocessor*

   - 25-MHz ARM 710a RISC processor

Here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=45031
The OEM Crystal is 3.686 mHz and he is from what I know installing a 5.000
mHz Crystal. Of course he can verify this if he wants to respond back to
this thread.

Yeah I checked it out...

Apple Decided that the eMate would ship with a processor that was an order
of magnitude slower than its predecessor. Although the eMate functions with
this 20mhz processor all NewtonOS 2.1 applications run slowly and even
scrolling through a note does not happen in real time. A noticable delay
results in every application, booting or starting from sleep modeIn several
ways the eMate is a more useful product but the speed of the unit definitely
limits its productivity.

This enhancement will *accellerate the unit 50%* from its original stock
processor speed and is still configurable to be turned off at the flip of a
switch when serial communications are necessary.

What I don't get is that there on his site he has photos of the speeds.
Boost ON for the eMate 300 it only reflects 27.0722222222222 mHz - Where is
the 30 mHz Ferdi advertised?
Boost OFF it reflects 19.9555555555556 mHz - Well at least is about 20 mHz
These number do reflect if a 3.686 mHz crystal and 5.000 mHz are used for
the eMate 300 hack.

I've saved a copy for myself (personal records just now). Ferdi, would you
mind if I put them on my Flickr account? and put them as Public for everyone
to see? In other words asking for official permission. And I will notate
permission granted by you if you grant permission - Thanks :-D

I'll definitely let Ferdi answer this one and correct any errors that appear
on his website.
Only thing I can do is pull out my eMates and check the stock speed and then
pull out the hacked one and see what it's Turbo Speed is.
Maybe Apple Specifications were wrong?

Regarding the other items -We'll leave that alone :-)
In business there are always someone who has had friction in a transaction.
The only thing that can be done is to make every effort as a Buyer or Seller
to resolve them amicably.

The item you noted regarding originating point of the eBay auctions. I'd
like to hear an answer from the horses mouth regardin that one fact.
