it would be interesting to know what the
self-costs of the Newton were, when its
production was cancelled?

There might have been a price between the much
too high offer and the final blow out-price which
would have saved the Newton's survical.

I bought it for the immense price of about 1.200$
(in Germany 2000 DM!) and it was very, very
expensive for me.

I think it was mainly Steve Jobs decision to let Sculley's child dieŠ
