[NTLK] Use XML?

Developers in any language, what are you doing to read/write XML documents?
I am thinking of ways to exchange data portably between the Newt and every
other OS, and I think that would give compatibility and flexibility at the
expense of size.

If XML isn't the right way to go, what kind (of database?) would be fully
cross-platform for storing and sharing data? I'm not thinking of exchanging
Contacts or anything similar, but "custom" data.

Thanks.
