I have to agree with a BSD-style license or LGPL if you have to go with GPL.

There are many arguments between GPL & BSD licenses, but the big one
for me is the embedding in commercial software and interactions with
other licenses. With standard GPL licenses you cannot link from or
include in commercial software--or any other, for that matter--without
releasing the full source for the software (LGPL resolves that), but
the GPL also states that non-GPL licenses conflict with its license
and so software under BSD or other licenses cannot be mixed together.

The BSD license is very basic and clear. I pretty much just says that
the software may be redistributed & modified as long as the original
license & source code are included. It's that easy, hence my
preference.

UNNA is accepting new material, but I'm still working on getting the
archives upgraded so I can post it online. I'm perfectly willing to
post it in a temporary location in the meantime.

I think once 2010 hits, many people are going to want it.

I'd say that Google Code <http://code.google.com/> is the easiest,
cleanest open source project hosting service at the moment, but
sourceforge <http://www.sourceforge.net/> is still a close second. I
would assume that Avi should create the account for his software,
upload the source, and if someone steps forward asking to maintain it
for him, then make them a project manager.

The most important thing is to get the source licensed and posted
anywhere on the net (his site would be perfect), we can worry about
project management & source control later.
