Yes. Following the instructions at

    http://www.pda-soft.de/2x00_disassemble.html,

remove the bottom of the case (4 screws), unplug the
power connector and the backlight connector, remove
four screws that hold the plastic part the backlight
wire is routed through, take off the plastic part,
replace spring-loaded pen eject mechanism.

I've never tried, but I doubt that you can take the
spring-loaded thingie apart at all. But the good news
is that I could easily live with one less than I have.
