No, I've not had any issue using WEP keys.

Of course, you do have to use the WEP "key", not WEP "password". For
the "Snow" AirPort Base Stations this can be retrieved by running the
AirPort Admin Utility and selecting "Equivalent Network Password..."
from the "Base Station" menu when configuring your AirPort.

Now, I'm actually using a registered version of Hiroshi's WaveLAN
drivers, but that shouldn't make a difference.
