Well it should be mentioned that when it was sold via Landware it
required a reregistration number. However the 2.0 version I bought
directly from Dan Rowley did not need this.

Landware was the publisher but not the developer. While they do still
sell several packages/programs for the Newt (all of them worth the $10
each) if you contact them directly. They can't help you with X-port as
they do not have the rights for it. They were mainly the retailer in
this regard. At one point Dan Rowley stopped using them and set up his
own site. And this was shortly before the Newton was canceled.

I was in contact with the author a while back and I will try again but I
believe his email address has changed as I didn't receive a response
last time. I shall try again though.
