Modified US military issued Apple Newton Message Pad case. Ebay. Has extra
pockets for extra PCMCIA cards, dongles, cell phone, whatever. Also has
belt clips, which I don't use (I seldom wear a military web belt these
days).
Sometimes security types give me the once-over because I am carrying a small
device in a camouflage case that looks like it could be a bomb, but normally
it works pretty well. If I am on a fairly major journey, I place the
Newton/Newton case inside a leather Jansport rucksack.

A really major journey would mean the large ALICE pack with the frame... but
so far, I haven't needed anything quite so big.
