As far as I see, you have exactly seven options:

"one store", "two stores", "three stores", "four stores",
"one 4 mb, one max", "one 4mb, two max, "one 4mb, three
max".

There doesn't seem to be a maximum partition size in and by itself,
but I wouldn't go and try to handle an 8GB card as one store,
because partitions take the longer to mount the larger they are.
Or maybe I would once. Just for the heck of it.

Now I use a SanDisk Ultra II 1 GB, partitioned as "one 4mb, three
max". Here's what I do with it:
