Re: [NTLK] New to Newts. Wifi, Palm syncing, and other question

Thanks, Russell.
I guess I was hoping I could do something similar with the Newt that I
can do with an early Windows CE machine, the HP jornada 820. Simple file
sharing both ways is what I'm after.
I've read and followed the web sites you've mentioned, but getting to
the internet is still not there. I've tried using a proxy (which worked
with the Jornada) and using XP's "internet connection sharing" function.
Neither work.
But networking is largely voodoo, I think. "Standards" are bogus and
it's often been luck and finger crossing to get anything to work right.
I guess that's different in the Mac world, but in Gate's Land it's all a
big kludge. (My line is "Bill Gates taught me how to curse...")
I'd settle for internet connection and file transfers via Ethernet.
If you know of a site where folks are doing that and have described the
process, I'd love to find that. Googled everywhere without much luck.
I can ping the Newton and it shows up, but beyond that: nada.
thanks again.
Steve
