As the ReadMe says: “expect Newton Connection for Mac OS X (NCX) to
behave like Newton Connection Utilities for Mac OS 9 (NCU)”.

Although there’s a Synchronize button on the interface, this DOES NOT
WORK YET so don’t bother testing that. If there’s anything else that
doesn’t do what you expect (repeating events from Dates not exported
correctly, for example), or even anything that doesn’t do what you
like, please let me know.

Yes, serial connections work fine.
