It's beginning to sound as though your problem is somewhat like one I
had, and posted details here a few months ago (try a search?).
Although mine was initially related to a LAN connection - the same
sort of thing happened when I tried to connect with a Lucent Silver
card. I changed the wi-fi card to a Netgear MA401 (same maker as my
router/modem) and now have no problem connecting to the internet by
wi-fi using DHCP or static setup.

The LAN problem still exists, and I still have a problem sending via
dotmac's server.

BTW John there is provision for entering DNS when setting up a static
internet conection.
