I'm in the same position as Kostas...

I'd be glad to help. But I'm not in a position to organize things,
nor to do project management.

Project management for this might not be easy, but is probably
necessary.

If we could break things up into chunks and each do a little, it
might get done.

nSync is open source and might make a good starting place. The
website actively invites community involvement. Here's a current link.
