$PGRMO is a Garmin-specific extension to the NMEA specification. Your
receiver may do nothing.

BTW, regarding fiddling with serial speeds etc: NMEA 0183 defines the serial
comm channel as 4800bps, N-8-1, so your device will never output anything else
and you shouldn't bother trying to receive anything else.
