I think there is a way to trick the Keyspan adapter into working in OS9
though even with both drivers set installed...
Hopefully someone who has actually done this can help clarify.

Hi,

i have always used Keyspan drivers on both OSX and OS9 with no problems.

There is no trick, just do what is reported below:
  - install OS X drivers first, with the adapter un-plugged. Open
Network Preferences panel, select the keyspan port and save.
  - then boot in OS 9, install the drivers with the adapter un-plugged.
  - in OS9 Open NCU and choose the serial connection that the keyspan
driver will give as available option, close the app.
  - reboot in OSX, open Classic, open NCU, connect the Newton.

On OS9 and OSX i have installed the ultimate Keyspan drivers available
on their site, but i have never kept in trouble with the previous
versions of the software using the old version of the keyspan twin
serial adapter hardware.

If you need to un-install your actual not-operating drivers, in OSX
open the serial assistant in /Applications folder, and choose
Un-install option in the settings menu. In OS9 just trash everything
has the word "keyspan" in its name.

Hope this helps.

Adriano
