Memory cards drains the batteries too?=20
You know, I have also two NIMH batteries, and they lasts much more than =
the
NiCD.

As Victor already pointed out, ensure that the "Receive beams
automatically" setting is turned off. Apart from that, make sure
you don't have any PC cards in your Newton while it is off. Some
cards, like WLAN or Ethernet cards, will suck your battery dry
in no time.
