Funny you should ask... ;-)
When Earthlink changed the requirements for sending email, I had to try a few different configs., below is what works for me...
-EnRoute; smtp = mail.earthlink.net
-SimpleMail 4.3; smtp = smtp.earthlink.net (make sure the 'authenticate' boxes on the left are checked)
...these are in the 'owner info.' section.
Now I gotta figure out how to 'tunnel' my emails thru verizon.dsl...nahhh
