Thanks James,

Packtype did the trick!

Now I'm trying to connect the Newt to my G5 via ethernet using NewtSync.

Symptoms:

1. The Newt wants an IP address - I give it the one that comes up in
the OSX network preferences (10.3.8)
2. No connection seems to occur when I start NewtSync on the G5

What else should I be looking at or doing?

For all help I am enormously grateful!
