Just my two cents:

I got all the hardware to buid one on my own, but I did not found teh time
yet.
Regarding to buy an adapter I would make my decision epending on how good
the adapter is matched to the Newt:
1) output voltage (regulated is a must!)
2) output current (there should be a limitation to 1.2 Amps)
In principle you can use a damned chepo adapter with 6V output voltage that
will not harm the Newt but will not properly charge the Newt batteries.

Cheers
Johannes
