One thing that needs to be kept in perspective is that other PDAs (Sony
Magic Link, the original Zaurus, the PocketViewer, and many more) were
killed off because the cost was too high for people to pay, they would much
rather get laptops for that price. The only two that were left standing and
in sort of OK standing were palm and winCE. Palm survived because of cost
and simplicity (I always hated palm for their UI and dumbed down
simplicity), and WinCE only survived because M$ had the money to back it up
and stick with it even though it initial versions sucked.
