Alright, I admit it, I was yanking your chain a bit.

The reason that it is 3/4 the way down the screen is:

The digitizer uses a resistance measurement in two directions, called X and
Y. What you are seeing is a change in the Y direction (there is also a bias
in the X but you just haven't noticed it yet).

If you use two styli and touch the screen in two places at the same time,
the digitizer will return a position mid way between the two touch points,
the centroid if you will. This is what is happening, there are two pressure
points on the screen.

Now, assume there is a piece of crap under the bezel (where else could it
be). This is acting like a second stylus. When your stylus is near the top,
it is above the crap and the indicated position is biased downward towards
the crap. When your stylus is near the bottom, it is below the crap, the
touch is biased up by the crap.

If you were to draw a diagonal line and watch the position of the line
under the stylus, you would get a good idea of where the crap is since at
some point it would be co-linear.

I just took a wild guess at right, given that most people are right handed
and it is bound to be either hand gunge, belly button lint, muffin residue
(I prefer cup-cakes better), or a distortion of the bezel by resting your
hand on the bezel.

>How about when I'm using the sideways mode?

No, it won't work...just fooling, of course it is the same in portrait as
in landscape.
