This is wrong. You can print to a stylewriter or stylewriter II or to
any Apple postscript printer that has a mini din 8 port (just like the
newton dongle round end), via a regular old apple printer cable (the
one your imagewriter uses).

I confirm, take two mac 8-din male plugs, and connect the pins as you
read below.

1 - 2
2 - 1
3 - 5
4 - 4
5 - 3
6 - 8
7 - 7
8 - 6

This is a Newton to Mac printer cable, and as Martin said well, it will
let you print to a variety of Apple printers.
