Hi all,
I have been a proud Newton messagepad 2100 owner for more than 5 years now
and tell myself
that I have the only Newton in India.
Thanks to the help of various listmembers and Victor particularly I have
been using it to track my appointments and schedules of my dental practice.
What's below is self-indulgent rambling.
I am now expanding and am completely computerizing the practice.
I am sick of windows.
The choices are Linux - cheap especially in India and can run on old
hardware
Apple - extremely difficult to get used Macs in India, poor service,
expensive.
my heart is for the Macs ( esp. with the easy Newton sync)but reason
dictates Linux.
neither os has dental software available in India.
I have just closed a deal for a Powermac 400Mhz with monitor, dvd drive for
abt Rs.
30000, abt 650US $.
Planning to try out a Linux and Mac setup before I decide.

any thoughts

regards
aravind
