I'm dubious about this conflict. Which Euroland package are you talking about?

500 errors often mean that there is something going wrong in the
server like a lack of memory or some data that could not be accessed.
I'll try to cook an NPDS update that will file a log when a 500 error
occurs to learn more about it. Meanwhile, you can install BugTrap and
tell it to log errors in try/catch clauses.
